Mediation offers an avenue for settling a dispute with the aid of a neutral facilitator. It is widely accepted as a sensible way to resolve commercial disagreements before the parties have invested a lot of time and expense in litigation. Mediation usually can be done quickly and efficiently. It is confidential, so the parties can communicate openly and explore ideas without fear that their words will later be used against them. Mediation is non-binding: a settlement occurs only when both parties agree to it.

As a mediator, I study the parties’ submissions, listen carefully to each side’s position, ask questions to find out what matters most to them, offer observations based on my analysis and experience, and help them reach a fair and sensible solution.
